Festival of Peace 2026
Festival of Peace Saturday 23 May 2026 Organized by the Parents Association Hosted by Brummana Highschool
The Festival of Peace 2026 was one of the major community events organized by the Brummana High School Parents’ Association, in close participation with the School, the Heads of Sections, BHS families, students, staff, and members of the wider school community.
The festival was created as a celebration of community, togetherness, and peace, bringing families, students, teachers, and friends of BHS together for a full day of activities, entertainment, food, and shared experiences.
The event reflected the Parents’ Association’s wider objective of strengthening the relationship between families and the School, creating opportunities for parents and students to connect beyond the classroom, and supporting a stronger sense of belonging within the BHS community.
A Community Effort
The Festival of Peace was made possible through the collaboration and participation of many members of the BHS community.
The Parents’ Association led the organization of the festival, working closely with the School administration and Heads of Sections, while families and students contributed through their participation, activities, performances, stands, volunteering, and presence throughout the day.
This collective involvement helped transform the festival into much more than a school event — it became a celebration created by the BHS community, for the BHS community.
Festival Highlights
Throughout the day, families and visitors were able to enjoy a wide range of activities and experiences, including:
Activities and entertainment for children and families
Student participation and performances
Food and refreshment stands
Community and vendor booths
Games and interactive activities
Opportunities for families to meet and connect
Participation from different sections of the School
PA-led activities and community engagement
The festival provided an informal and welcoming environment where parents, students, teachers, school representatives, and friends could spend time together and celebrate the spirit of BHS.
The Parents’ Association
The Festival of Peace formed part of the Parents’ Association’s broader efforts to encourage stronger parental engagement, community participation, and cooperation between families and the School.
In addition to its work in areas such as governance, financial oversight, communication, and parent representation, the PA also seeks to create initiatives that bring the community together and strengthen the connection between parents, students, and the School.
The Festival of Peace is one example of how this collaboration can extend beyond meetings and formal structures and become a shared experience for the entire BHS community.
